The Christopher Idam Agha Foundation

The Christopher Idam Agha Foundation, named in honour of the esteemed Nigerian statesman who passed away in 2014, is a testament to his deep belief in the transformative power of education. Recognising the significant impact of his educational journey, Christopher Idam Agha dedicated a part of his life to financially supporting students who needed assistance. His enduring wish was for his legacy of educational support to continue beyond his lifetime. In line with this vision, his children and other beneficiaries established the foundation in 2018, with its official registration in the Federal Republic of Nigeria completed in July 2023.

The foundation, governed by a dedicated Board of Directors, remains unwavering in its commitment to Christopher Idam Agha’s vision. It is a not-for-profit organisation in Nigeria focused on making education accessible to deserving students. The foundation’s approach is hands-on and multifaceted, working directly with schools, parents, and students to identify those in need. Recognising the financial barriers that hinder educational progress, the foundation provides funds to cover school and examination fees for students whose parents cannot afford these costs.

Moreover, the foundation extends its support by supplying essential educational materials. This includes writing materials and books, ensuring students have the tools for their academic pursuits. Recognising that academic success is not solely dependent on financial support, the foundation also organises after-school lessons. These lessons are tailored to help students keep pace with their curriculum, bridging gaps in their learning and reinforcing classroom instruction.

Over the years, the foundation has had a profound impact, with thousands of students benefiting from Christopher Idam Agha’s vision and legacy. These students have been allowed to pursue their educational goals without the burden of financial constraints, embodying the foundation’s belief in the transformative power of education. Through its ongoing work, the Christopher Idam Agha Foundation continues to change lives and build a brighter future, one student at a time.

The CIA Foundation thanks all its donors for their generous contributions.
